Here’s some good news for all the cricket enthusiasts out there! The Indian Cricket team’s ex-captain, MS Dhoni is soon going to be opening a cricket academy in Dubai!
The former Indian skipper, is all set to open his first cricket academy in the UAE, instead of India. The coaching centre is going to be located at Springdales School, Al Khail, and is going to be developed in association with Dubai Pacific Sports Club.
Speaking about his tie up with the sports club for the new venture, Dhoni said to Gulf News, “Sports has attained a global stature not just for fostering athleticism and sportsmanship, but also as a viable business platform that involves many different stakeholders, from small businesses to big conglomerates and organisations. I am delighted to be a part of the club and will contribute in any means possible to make it a success.”
Further speaking about this exciting venture, entrepreneur and philanthropist Parvez Khan of Pacific Ventures said, “Pacific Sports Club is excited about its association with MS Dhoni, a superstar in the field of cricket. PSC has all exclusive rights to MS Dhoni Cricket Academy (MSDCA), not just in the UAE but other GCC countries, South Africa and the UK. Dhoni will be the brand ambassador for the academy and will be hands-on at the PSC with frequent visits. What makes this venture exciting is that this is for the first time ever that the cricketer is launching his academy and he chose Dubai for the launch of his new venture.”
Exciting right? Dhoni is not the first cricketer to set up a training camo. Cricketing legends, Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag have already started cricket academies post their retirement. Dhoni is going to be here in Dubai to launch the academy, as soon as he is done playing the current Sri Lanka series.
We can’t wait to hear more about this exciting project. How many of you would love to be part of this training academy?
